Forage Balancer® – Fodder Beet

Fodder Beet is a fantastic feed; high yielding and high in energy, but it does come with significant risk. The risk of poor induction has been well documented but the risk goes well beyond the induction period.

Ruminal acid production is extremely high for the whole grazing period due to the high level of readily available carbohydrate. This acid, if not managed, can cause significant damage to the sensitive membrane lining of the rumen. This damage is permanent and in the worst case - fatal.

Forage Balancer® – Fodder Beet provides a matrix of rumen pH buffers bringing far greater safety and efficiency to grazing fodder beet. It includes a full vitamin, trace element and mineral profile to help overcome deficiencies associated with fodder beet.

Simply pour the correct amount into a long open trough. You can use PK trailers, culvert pipes cut in half, make your own with timber or buy ready made troughs.

The key is to have lots of space for easy access, we recommend 30 – 50 cm for cattle and 5 – 10cm for sheep.

Ideally you would put out a daily dose but in situations where you're not there daily, like runoffs for example, you can put out 2 – 3 days at a time.
